Audacity is still open source, but a company bought it (along with musescore and a few others). they’ve been overhauling a bunch of the software design, which is why musescore4 is so great. but part of that change is normal company things, including telemetry. i’m not super educated on how it went down in musegroup, but those policies got turned back at least a little bit. as i remember, they weren’t super crazy privacy-bad, but
