If you are taking the car to Chicago, can you even call yourself a feminist. There are Women on that train who want to have gay sex with you but can't because you are taking a fucking car to Chicago

Right now there is a very buff Butch woman all alone in the Cafe car and she could be having steamy gay sex with you and be moving into your apartment if you were just willing to take the train to Chicago

I'm busy trying to get more lesbians to ride the train instead of taking their Subarus to Chicago

What do you think of the take that uncritical yimbyism is at least almost as problematic as uncritical nimbyism

I would agree with that. While we desperately need more housing, if we give developers complete control with no accountability that could and likely would cause more harm than good. We should support housing developments but be willing to criticise them

Okay so I just checked and the book I am reading has 71 pages dedicated to notes, works cited, and indexes.

amtrak-official

That's 16% of the book that is just citing, clarifying and saying where within the book things are

I think he just wanted to break 400 pages and didn't know how else to do it

I know it's an academic work and stuff like that is important, but did you need to tell me the exact pages that Beijing China or Battery Park City in NYC or the Alaskan Way Viaduct in Seattle are mentioned?

It's 270-271 and 337-338 for Beijing, Battery Park City was mentioned in a Footnote on page 249, and the Alaskan Way Viaduct was mentioned on pages 95-96, 308 and 324-26

The book is Walkable City, How Downtown Can Save America One Step At A Time by Jeff Speck

I should have clarified that this is in no way bad, it’s good, I just found it funny that so much of the book was indexes
