Soon I will be spending 3 days on the Southwest Chief. I am, by no means, an experience train-goer. Any tips on surviving this train and what to expect.. (this is mostly a joke but i AM going on that train so knowing some facts on that line would be neat!)

Congrats I hope you love your ride. Hmm, cool things to expect, well the route goes through the grand canyon and the Painted desert so that should be exciting. The shrublands and deserts of the US are incredibly overlooked in terms of their natural beauty. As for tips, there is an observation car you should check out and the sleeper cars are superliners which mean that you can only transfer between cars on the upper level because they have 2 floors
