How do you feel about the Brightline in FL?
amtrak-official answered:
Better than nothing, I personally feel all transit should be public, but their service is good. I do however see it failing in the future due to its ownership structure so basically doing my job for me with the track improvements
Hi there! I'm a former floridian! I can give you my long and angry rant about brightline if you want :)
I know the basics about it being a private company that is run with public funds and is a real estate scheme, as well as the stupid biodeisel shit, the ugly stations, and the killing of the real high-speed rail plans. But yes tell me the drama, I need something to new to say when arguing over its value
Careful, some Floridians hate bright line because they didn't know trespassing on railroad property is unsafe since their only other trains are CSX fast (or as normal people put it, slow)
Not to downplay the poster, bright line being a real estate scheme means it was built to appeal to the people who would buy or work at said real estate. The real problem with Bright Line in the end is Florida. The state isn't really designed for people who don't drive, and the citizens who can afford to take bright line (or afford to drive for that matter) are Desantes' shits.
I do hope that the issue at hand is more interesting than Floridians don’t know what a grade crossing is
