So I was going to make a poll on the missing routes in our system but like the only real long distance route that is the missing Chicago-Indianapolis-Louisville-Nashville -Chattanooga-Atlanta Corridor which is honestly the only really missing long distance route in the system. I mean Pioneer and Northcoast Hiawatha would be nice but the biggest missing route is still that South east corridor
Anyways here is a map which shows how well this would fit in with the existing routes in the amtrak system.
Routes shown are as follows: Acela, Cardinal, City of New Orleans, 3C+D, Northeast Regional, Silver Star / Meateor.
Hypothetical routes that would be supported by this corridor are as follows, Louisville-Cincinnati, Louisville-Lexington-Knoxville-Chattanooga, Nashville-Huntsville-Birmingham -Montgomery, and Atlanta-Montgomery-Mobile

Okay maybe a Tuscon-Pheonix-SLC-Boise line and an El Paso-Albuqurque-Denver-Cheyenne-Billings line would be good for the west
The restoration of the full Sunset Limited to Miami and the Floridian are my two big qualms for LDs.
The Floridian would be an easy connection from Jax to your Montgomery proposition. (the former route)
Yeah pretty much, covers basically the last bit of the southeast While the Sunset Limited went all the way over to Jacksonville before turning south, your route line is an extremely interesting one
I was too lazy to check the original route and there are some large cities that needed service in central florida. I might re route it if I ever go through and make new suggestions
@thecurliestbracketsofall Unfortunately yes, Alaska, and Hawaii are kinda difficult to service. And for Wyoming the connects us plan for the Front Range gives it service, and I have ideas for how to give service for south Dakota with a long distance line
