Pick a missing Long distance Route to be built
Chicago-Indianapolis-Louisville-Nashville-Atlanta
Tuscon-Pheonix-Vegas-SLC-Boise
El Paso-Albuquerque-Denver-Cheyenne-Billing
See ResultsMiami-Fort Myers-Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater-Gainesville-Tallahassee. Also the suspended service from Jacksonville to New Orleans needs to be rebuilt so that this route can join up to it.
(The new Howard Frankland bridge across Tampa Bay, currently under construction, is designed to accommodate rail traffic.)
Okay, maybe this isn't long distance, but it's got a number of important Florida cities that are not currently properly served by Amtrak.
We would need a rail friendly administration in Florida first which given the recent administration’s have been run by literal demons (Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis) I don’t see that happening. But we could improve service on the silver star and meator. Additionally it is still the plan to finish the sunset limited one day.
