Do you know what series of trains would work from Detroit to DC? Roughly how long would it take?
amtrak-official answered:
Can’t do that currently because service between Detroit and Chicago is currently suspended, but normally not accounting for downtime and delays it would be about 5 and half hours on the Wolverine from Detroit to Chicago and then another 24 hours on the Cardinal between Chicago and DC
