what are your tips for getting cheaper tickets in the northeast corridor?
amtrak-official answered:
Go at night and buy in advance, I have been able to find them pretty reasonably by checking about a month ahead. As in a 40 dollar Acela Ticket and 20 dollars Northeast Regional
Also WEEKDAYS, they are at times 20 dollars cheaper than weekend trains so try to book on weekdays
