the word "cabal" in the sense of "a sinister group of conspirators" is antisemitic in origin, being derived from Kaballah, a Jewish mystical tradition. Equating a group of evil conspirators to Jewish mystics was not accidental, and unfortinately is still relevant and damaging today.
