I have some news regarding this year's round of RAISE grant's. Here are all the projects where intercity rail (not freight, regional, or commuter rail) is receiving funding:
The New London (CT) Union Station renovation is one of 5 projects in New London receiving a joint 17 million
Fresno is receiving 20 million to renovate their train station for California High-speed Rail
San Bernadino is receiving 25 million for the construction and design of Brightline west Stations
I know we are sad that none of this years projects directly involved Amtrak, but we'll get our own round of funding to celebrate this fall when the FRA gives out the money from the Corridor ID program
Also adding on that the 20 million for California High-speed Rail will also go towards design of the extension from Fresno to Merced
Went digging and found some more that I missed in my quick check through. Here are those forgotten projects:
Baltimore Penn is receiving 6 million in funds for exterior work like buslanes
New Carrollton is Receiving 20.5 million to build a new train hall for MARC and Amtrak alongside station accessibility improvements
Baton Rouge and Gonzalez are getting 20 million together for the construction of train stations on a new line to connect it to New Orleans
