The goal of the 15 minute city and urbanism as a whole is livability. A 1000 sq foot apartment in New York or Hong Kong is not the urbanist goal because that is not living, nor are those conditions what lead to healthy and safe spaces for humans are key.
Yes Density is key to improving livability of our cities but that can be achieved without sacrificing livability, this can be done through quadplexs, closer together houses, mixed use zoning, living above shops, or even still apartment buildings but ones with larger apartments
