How much would it take to nationalize the rails @amtrak-official like I know you don't know but like how unrealistic is that wish. Specifically like how hard politically. Because I know America is pro car but are many anti train? In my limited experience it doesn't feel true and I just wanted to ask a source of info.
Because Ive loved trains for years being semi autistic, nerd and like I don't understand how people wouldn't enjoy this more. Like it just sounds like so much easier to travel by train from city to city than car. Like personally I hear people complain all the time about traveling from city to city on long car rides to see family. Seems like Americans would love it just propaganda by car companies to not think of it. Am I wrong?
It could be done incredibly easily, all we need is one act of congress to be written and passed. We actually did it before during WWI

It was a war measure and the war ended. We actually did a ton of cool social stuff during the war before the conservatives came to power after the war
