amtrak-official answered:
The autotrain was a private company in the 70s that went out of business in the 80s that was annexed into amtrak. Plue the autotrain mostly stops in suburbs and I hate that
the auto train is also the train that does the most vore out of any train, which only csx is enough of a freak to allow that on their tracks
