CTA receiving its largest-ever federal infrastructure grant for Red Line extension project

Mayor Brandon Johnson and Senator Dick Durbin will announce the largest transit infrastructure grant ever awarded to the CTA.

Don’t get me wrong, it is a good project, I just would much prefer if they used their funds and federal grants on the Circle line (pictured below) that was studied in the early 2000s instead since it would vastly improve the L and likely have amazing ridership. But if we are doing the Red Line Extension, I am very glad that it got the grant
