Missed the train and was trying to jump on and enter from the side, while holding two pairs of shoes in my hand, but the steward said I wasn't allowed shoes in my luggage so I had to jump back on the platform.

We let you bring what ever you want on the train, even shoes as long as it’s not a weapon. You wouldn’t have had to get back into the platform if it was an amtrak
