Milwaukee was linked to Chicago by the Northshore which makes Milwaukee like Aurora, a city connected to Chicago by a commuter railroad and therefore a Chicago Suburb. It's just a big one

Incorrect. What determines a suburb is whether people from the city it is a suburb of consider it a suburb. Due to this, Kenosha is not a suburb, and neither is Milwaukee you insane dumbass (lighthearted).

They are called Commuter Railroads for a reason and if people Commute from one area to a dense downtown, they probably live in a suburb

By this logic, Oakland is a suburb of San Francisco, as are lots of bay area cities.

Oakland is like the most iconic large city that still functions as a suburb. It is called the San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward metro for a reason
