Here in Germany, no one has that. I can walk up right to the subway or S-Bahn [light rail] or ICE [High-Speed train] and wave someone goodbye from the platform.

I am thinking of the Lesbians, Amtrak doesn’t have turnstiles for a reason, I was discussing Metros
I was more talking in a "please get everyone to ditch turnstiles and speedgates" way.
At least in Munich, our public transit is wonderfully accessible, and I wish the US did the same.
I would support removing turn stiles and just having people buy tickets without them
