I ride the Northeast Corridor a lot, and I’ve heard that the reason they keep jacking up the prices is that it’s the only profitable line and it’s subsidizing all the others. Is this true??

Yeah that is the main reasoning, if congress funded Amtrak well, then the the problem of ticket costs wouldn’t exist
