I find it insane that a painted bike lane is seen as going to far by many people when in reality it is the bare fucking minimum a project should have
NIMBYs when you suggest replacing steet parking with a painted bike lane will build themselves with the strongest coalition in city government in 20 years purely to block that project and I find it Hilarious
Anyways this is why community outreach matters because if you can get people to support projects like bike lanes, then they are far more likely to happen
