I find it insane that a painted bike lane is seen as going to far by many people when in reality it is the bare fucking minimum a project should have
In my area those are basically right turn lanes.
Biking around here is dangerous.

We have painted bike lanes that are also legitimate turn lanes. It's extremely dangerous to use them. Idiots drive 40+ here and swing into the turn lanes without slowing or even looking.
I'm sorry, what the fuck, those should not be compatible uses of space!!
Things bike lanes are used for in NYC:
- Parking
- Loading/unloading vehicles
- Turn lanes
Things bike lanes lanes are NOT used for:
- Riding bikes
This is why bike lanes need to be separated with at minimum bollards
