You ever feel like people are looking for things to be mad at on the internet, as in a joke where I said Houston wasn't a real city lead to this response
It was as simple as Houston is too sprawling and Suburban and I thought saying that because of that it wasn't it real city would be funny. It was not about any hatred of the South or a desire to see Southerners suffer. I mean obviously Houston exists and I wasn't claiming it didn't. Anyways, I got annoyed seeing this in my notes and wanted to talk about it without causing someone to get bothered
Eh, as someone from Houston, we are a bit defensive of our city. We constantly deal with shit from our state government trying to screw us over but no one outside our county recognize that because Austin is the "Texas Liberal City" and even had people say during hurricanes not to provide aid to our city because of said state government being fuck shit. Then online, we get idiots claiming we are the worst city in the country because they watched a single video from the Dutch Bike man talking about it.
Yeah fair, that orange bike man video really did hurt Houston’s reputation among urbanists when cities like Vegas do way worse in urbanism. I see why you would be defensive
