I'm delayed on the train and bored so...Amtrak wine tasting
"Line 39" Cabernet Sauvignon, 2020 - California
Aroma: Sweet chocolates, raisins, and a hint of super glue.
Flavor: Unmistakably alcohol forward, to the point of it being the primary tasting note. Mixed berry flavors come through next, the bottle says "current, blackberry, and ripe plum" but I'm getting more of a "black cherry flavored grape juice" vibe with notes of wet wool, blood, and canned cranberries backing it up.
Mouthfeel: Drying astringent tannins linger on the tongue, medium bodied, mild lime-like acidity. It feels soft/rounded and harsh/biting at the same time, maybe like if a can of tv static flavor la croix went flat? idk
Overall Rating: 9/10 for being the only red available in the café car.
I don’t know much about wine but glad this was enjoyed
