St.Paul-Minneapolis is probably the best cycling city in the US, is building out a new modern light rail system, has some of the most progressive housing policies, and is getting 2 new Amtrak Lines within this Decade hopefully. It would literally be the best city in The US if it didn't get into the -20s consistently.I love snow but even I have a limit.

Do you know if the line from Chicago to Minneapolis would be a more direct route than the Empire Builder or would it use the same route and only travel between the two cities instead of traveling all the way to Portland/Seattle?
The train should be about 7-8 hours and will use Empire Builder tracks
