Hopefully if the infrastructure improvements from Infrastructure Bill and other laws get done, I could see amtrak being an effective and affordable service in 20 years if funding increases to a reasonable rate. The results of the Corridor ID program and the Long distance rail study this year will really determine how much amtrak improves in the next 20 years though
