Seriously, if you care about the design of your city, join a community organization and work to improve it. Paint a crosswalk or a bike lane, start a news page for your city, work with communities to build a better version of your city. Watching YouTube videos does nothing to fix your city, what actually fixes your city is actually going out there, working with communities and community leaders and doing real work to improve a neighborhood, or city
This is lazy as fuck of me, but do you happen to have resources on a per city basis of where to join or how to find them? I have no idea where to start looking.
Look up [your city name] transit advocacy group, [your city name] urbanist group or look up [your city name] strong towns group. You should be able to find a result. If that doesn’t work, try asking your cities reddit if any transit advocacy groups or urbanist groups exist in your city. If none exist, find some people who also support good urban design, and start a local strong towns chapter or urbanist group.
Here is a link to the list of all the strongtowns groups:
If your city isn’t on there, don’t worry, there is still probably an urbanist group near you, they just aren’t affiliated with strong towns
