You're sitting in on the Valley Flyer on a Ticket to Northampton. The scenery outside the train is green and full of nature. Around you are 9 people of interest. A girl Loading her bike onto the train, a blue haired woman crocheting a sweater, a character of indeterminate gender reading a book, 2 young boys playing on their Nintendo DS, a ghost, a butch attempting to open her watercolor set, a man pointing a camera out the window and a little old lady muttering to herself. Beneath your seat lies a backpack, inside are 3 novels, a photo of John Lennon, Mineral Water and a laptop.
What do you do?
@arkynwolf You run over to the door and help the girl get her bike on to the rack, she seems grateful. She tells you her name is Maria and when you go back to your seat, she sits across the aisle from you. She off handedly mentions that she moved to New Haven a month ago from El Paso and is going up to NoHo to see some friends
@curseyournarrativeandmoisture She asks where you are heading on the train and you tell her that you are looking for a new life after a messy break up in New York, you though Northampton seemed nice, you talk about how your brother and his boyfriend are driving a Uhaul up there to get your apartment ready while you ride the train up
@fireyturtle you look out the window and see a deer eating some grass on a hill. The deer screams
@curseyournarrativeandmoisture You grab the photo from your bag and chew it up, it tastes plasticy
@call-me-clemmie you go up to talk to the butch but she doesn't notice you as a result of her swearing Loudly about the water color Tins key being missing and how she can’t open it. However as you turn to leave her you spot the key lying under the seat next to her
@fishofthewoods You grab the key and hand it to the butch, she seems appreciative of the help and as she opens her watercolor set, she offers to move over so you can sit by her, she thinks you would make a good subject for a painting
@mysticotta when you sit down by her, you think to start asking about her life. She seems not to want to talk about it but after some prying she admits that she is going to visit her girlfriend that she met in college in Northampton after her girlfriend left New York suddenly about 3 months ago. She says she hadn't heard from her girlfriend, Sarah in a month and was hoping that if she surprised her girlfriend for her birthday, she might start talking to her again
@ccaleb-widogast you respond to her story that you wonder if her girlfriend had started dating someone else in Northampton, this makes the Butch rather angry, she shuts her watercolor case, rips the painting she was making in half and tells you to move to a different seat, she says that she knows her girlfriend still loves her. As you leave, she starts to cry
@puppydragonbite You quickly turn back as you leave the seat next to her to say sorry about what you said and she seems appreciative of the apology. You still decide to return to your seat.
@korg-collective you get up out of your seat, a tear rolls down your face, you look up to the sky, raising your arm and shout "what is this beautiful madness!!" The entire car starts staring at you, including Maria and the Butch. Even the man with the camera starts pointing hid camera at you
@strawberryblackcrown You continue standing in the aisle but strike a pose, the man with the camera is unimpressed and turns his camera back towards the window. The Butch goes back to crying, and Maria just stares at you confused
@frozenthoughtbox you seem confused and get back in your seat, you look over to maria and ask her about New Haven. She tells you that she hasn't had much time to explore the city, but she does enjoy taking the train down to New York and has fun in the Pottery Studio she works at
@yard-3103 You tell Maria that you think the art of making good pottery has been lost, she seems confused and just tells you that the owner of the Studio, Janet is a very worldly woman who spent a lot of time researching the ways pottery was made historically but also says that she thinks pottery is still an artform people appreciate
@wittyno you open your backpack, grab the bottle of mineral water and drink the whole thing. You do this while Maria is talking to you. She is scared and impressed by the amount of water you can drink in one sip
@wormsontoast you suddenly choke on the water. Maria seems worried about you as you start suddenly coughing, but don't worry, you get better fast as you manage to swallow the water correctly.
@dabidagoose As you get back to talking with Maria, you ask to see some of the pottery that she has made, she pulls out her phone and shows you a photo of a white porcelain vase with blue paintings on it. She also shows you a sculpture of a monster with sharp teeth which she apparently saw in her dreams
