Golf courses and parking lots are kissing, unlovable hand in unlovable hand as they ruin our cities and slowly kill us all

Now it's common knowledge that parking lots are inefficient and bad land use that drives up housing prices and needs to be reduced in our urban centers but I think we don't give enough credit to how truly bad golf courses

In the city of Louisville within the urban core lies a golf course highlighted in white

Guess how much land it takes up, 10 acres? 30 acres? 50 arces??? 75 acres?!?

WRONG, 130 acres of land

That is enough for a full fledged urban neighborhood to exist within, in fact:

It is larger than the up and coming Louisville neighborhood of Nulu or 19 full city blocks

If this doesn't put into perspective how bad of a land use urban golf courses are, I don't know what will

would it be better if they kept as many of the trees and plant life as possible?

I dunno, I don't want to say golf is bad but like that's bad

The grass is in no way alive or good for the environment, it wastes water and is invasive, the trees can stay, I have seen neat posts showing how you could build dense neighborhoods as adaptive Reuse of golf courses while keeping the trees
