Working on a fantasy city
Portage is a trading post, as well as both the largest city and capital of a major kingdom. It sits where the river meets the bay. In recent years the inner core of the city has been growing increasingly dense forcing people out into the outer areas within the city walls which used to be farmland which has now moved outside the walls along the major roads to Cove City and Fort Da'ma.
Cove city was built as an escape from the poverty of Portage by the wealthy but is growing increasingly fast as well causing the city to reach the edges of its walls
Along the road between Cove City and Portage lies the small town Morna a lively trading village and vacation town that is changing quickly as it is thrown into the orbit of the larger cities increasingly more
Across the bay lies Fort Da'ma, a military fort with a decent city around it, it was built to guard the bay and has little agriculture on its periphery due to Rocky soil. It is becoming a tourist attraction as the wealthy seek to find escapes from Portage
Furthest inland is the Town of Kindwell, a suburban extension of Portage home to the Palace of the King and the residences of several ministers who live outside the city despite the place of the legislature being in Portage Proper
