did you know there was supposed to be highspeed rail construction in texas that would connect houston to dallas making it a ~90 minute commute instead of the ~4 hours it takes to drive? apparently amtrak was going to push for construction to begin in 2021 but it never went through

Amtrak is still pursuing the project, the part that fell through was the private entity that headed the project. Supposedly construction is going to start soonish, but I wouldn’t hold my breath
