I think it would be fun for a story to have no respect for it's setting, like putting a monastery circa 1506 on modern Staten island for a character to run to in desperation to try and escape the consequences of his actions
Or like just removing the majority of skyscrapers in midtown Manhatten so the Chrysler building can be drawn at more cool looking angles
I mean the first thing happened in Dimension 20 but I wouldn’t say it has no respect for its settings.
I've never watched Dimension 20, but I am interested I am interested in this, tell me more
Well the first thing you need to know is (most) of the seasons are independent of each other.
The second is I think the second season? Doesn’t matter, it’s called Unsleeping City, it takes place in real life New York, and the main antagonist is Robert Moses. Yes the one that fucked public transport in the ass, that Robert Moses. Yeah he’s a Lich in charge of a hedge fund of tech-bro vampires.
Also it’s a D&D live play and one of the characters is a Staten Island monk, and the bit is no one wants to go to Staten Island because how difficult it is to get to and how much it sucks is played up, which is why the Monestary is there.
Also there’s a Cleric of the Spirit of New York and his strongest power is optimizing public transportation.
That sounds really neat but now I need to find a new place to put a monastery so it doesn’t seem like I’m stealing ideas
