In general I think economic arguments for good urban design are kinda bad arguments because I mean yes suburbs are bad for a cities budget but like I think that discussing the impact that suburbs have on human socialization, community and behavior is much more effective at getting people to think about how we live.
We can shrug off and ignore a bad economic decision, we do everyday with the police, we can’t ignore something that is destroying our community structures and harming the very fabric of society
