I think it's fascinating how Light rail has effectively replaced Metro and Subway in the general American lexicon as the word for a train that moves people within a city even when the train in question is not a light rail
I think the reasoning for this is because light rail is the main form of rail that has been built in America for 40 years with no new heavy rail subways in the continental US since the mid 80s so slowly when people talk about transit they automatically assume light rail even when a system is not a light rail
