what do you think is the most effective way to persuade people who see new development as gentrification? like we need more housing in a denser area, but idk if we can do it without some change. tho tbh i feel like "but what about gentrification?" is just a more liberal/progressive way of saying "but what about my neighborhood character?"
tell me if you think this one is any good: if we don't build any more housing in desirable areas like cities, competition increases and drives up the price. ofc wealthy people will be able to snatch up the housing that goes on sale first. and poor people will be pushed out to less desirable areas. however, if we add more housing in the desirable area, we can all SHARE it instead
I agree but I really shouldn’t talk about gentrification again
