Electric Cars are still pretty bad for the environment because of how driving them is cheaper leading people to drive more, making them release more microplastics and particulates into the air, and they continue the sprawl and urban heat island effect caused by car dependent infrastructure, so the only way to reduce the harms of cars is to make it possible for people to exist without cars in our urban centers
