So my issue with city builders is simple, I don't have enough control, I should be able to control every detail of my city from what house goes where to the layout of the roads
But having the power to detail everything would also be maddening like what do you mean I have to manually add parking spaces?
I know you didn't ask for recommendations but I always like an excuse to recommend it so - Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic is suuuper good, it's super customisable with how difficult/ realistic you want it to be and it's one of the only modern period city builders I've found where you can actually do walkable cities that are geared towards public transport first, rather than being forced to build non walkable car centric cities, and the production side almost plays like factorio if want to optimise it. It's real good
