Okay this is just a start but here we go:

Like with all good stories, this one begins on a cold October day, it's late afternoon and a woman with messy dark hair and pale skin is running down the steps to the subway platform, she needs to be at the gallery in 10 minutes and is behind schedule. Her name is Marion and this will be the most important subway ride of her life.

She manages to catch the train which was there when she entered the station, it left a few seconds after she got on but was quite full, she scanned the train before finding a spot next to a girl in a yellow sundress with ginger hair, she was cute, Marion felt embarrassed just to sit by her but the train was starting to move, so she quickly dashed into the seat.

Marion looked at the girl who was reading a magazine about the local arts scene and told the girl

“Hey, I know that magazine, they interviewed me for a piece on the gallery I work at, it was neat”

The girl looked up and said with a small giggle,

“So, why haven't I seen you in here before?”

“Oh simple, I’m plain and I ain't pretty like you,” Marion replied

“You seem pretty enough to me, you're certainly prettier than a lot of the boys in this magazine” The Girl opened the magazine to show Marion one of the spreads in the magazine. The girls laughed.

They continued to talk for a minute or two more before the train announcer said over the intercoms,

“75th and Jefferson”

The girl quickly got up and ran out the door, not even saying goodbye to Marion, but in her seat lie a small little thing, it was a business card, on it you could read:

Jean Dumot

Actress

And then it had a list of numbers that was likely her phone number, Marion stared at the card for a moment before showing it in her pocket and sighing

“Well I suppose I will have to call her”

It’s a bit later in the day and Marion has finished with the latest piece for the gallery, she tries to get her cellphone out of her pocket to take a photo but knocks the business card of Jean’s out of her pocket, she picks it up and stares at it for a moment, she decides she wants to meet up with that girl again, she picks up her phone and dials the number on the card.

Ring Ring

“Hello? This is Jean”

“Hi I’m Marion, we met on the train earlier today, you were reading a magazine, and I can’t stop thinking about it so I want to know, would you like to meet up at the riverside park tomorrow night, I know this is sudden but I want to get to know you better, and I’m rambling aren’t I, okay I’m just going to stop talking now.”

“Oh I think I might be able to do that, I want to get to know you a bit better too honestly”

“Really? How does 6 sound?”

“It sounds lovely, Marion”

Then Jean hung up the phone and Marion was stunned for a moment but then she felt more excited than she had felt in years.
