Thinking about how Mackinac Island, the only place in the US to currently ban cars is so far from any other cities that it is impossible to reach the port where the ferries take you to the island without a car

There is a proposal to build a train that goes from Detroit to Northern Michigan, but not Mackinaw city where the port is, the best we could get would be the train to Petoskey and a Bus transfer to Mackinac
