The reason I criticized it is because it actively harming the potential of High Speed Rail in this country because it is seen as an actually good model to follow when it is nonsensical. The goal of high speed rail is not to travel across the continent but to replace car trips and short haul flights
Also a US congressman tweeted that he wants to make a bill that would make this map a reality
The White line literally would never work in any reality. It's Chicago to Quebec via Dallas and Atlanta
The goal of this map is to connect as many cities as possible to a system and to look pretty even to the detriment of the usability of the system
