So when are people going to realize that this map is really fucking bad and stupid
The reason I criticized it is because it actively harming the potential of High Speed Rail in this country because it is seen as an actually good model to follow when it is nonsensical. The goal of high speed rail is not to travel across the continent but to replace car trips and short haul flights
Also a US congressman tweeted that he wants to make a bill that would make this map a reality
What would be a better map? I'd love to share it around :3 I'm sure there are train related activists but that is a genre of political activity I'm unfamiliar with
The issue is that we would not need a full national network but several smaller lines to start with, but I think this Map by City Nerd where the thicker the line the more needed the line is would be a good model to use
