I found a Windows 98 PC Box, what should I do
Build a gaming pc in it!
How hard would it be to modify a computer like this?
That depends on the inside. But if you can fit a modern motherboard in there, you can build a modern pc relatively easily, just by putting in all new parts. The hiccups would be a gpu (they’re really big now); the interior space taken up by those disc and floppy drives, depending if you keep them and how they fit on the inside; and maybe the power supply, but you can make those flexible. If you have to keep an old mb, your best option is to use it to run retro pc stuff
Personally, I’d probably turn that into a home server/storage type thing. Run a Minecraft server, Plex, media storage, that’s what I did (Google casaOS to see if that’d work for you). Doing all that is specs-based, and I know not a lot about machines that old.
How do I tell if the motherboard is modern or not
don't gut it, restore it. reinstall windows 98. use it for retrocomputing purposes. do weird things with old computers. join us :3
Yeah, sleeper builds are played out.
Restore it, use it as it was intended: to play late 90s games!
I might just do that
