First up, Amtrak has begun a partnership with Texas Central to further explore the Dallas Houston line, (and save that failed project from collapse)
Next up, The Auto Train is having a sale on tickets, tickets between Florida to “DC” is now $40 till August 18th

The autotrain was a private company in the 70s that went out of business in the 80s that was annexed into amtrak. Plue the autotrain mostly stops in suburbs and I hate that

I didn’t even want that bastard child, he was a result of a private company in the 80s going bankrupt and congress taking control afterwards. It went bankrupt because a car train is a fucking stupid idea and train stations should be in city centers and not the suburbs

Never actually been asked it before actually, my favorite is the acela becaus either goes fast and is really pretty, but I think I will like the avelia even more once it replaces the current acela fleet later this year. The weirdest train we run is the autotrain, given it was taken over in the 80s and carries cars between suburbs and not real cities
