The US will bend over backwards to have a private company do a worse job than the government does if you give it a fancy coat of paint
Stop saying Brightline is High-speed rail and definitely stop saying it’s the nation’s first, the Acela Corridor has not been going at upwards of 165 mph since fucking 2000, for you to call Brightline which goes at 79 mph high speed rail

Mr Amtrak they’re putting a brightline train that runs to Miami in my state :D
Congrats for being in Florida I guess. That’s something I will probably never say again
Environmental review for Victor Valley to Rancho Cucamonga has also been completed by Brightline west, making the project shovel ready for its construction start date of this fall

How do you feel about the Brightline in FL?
Better than nothing, I personally feel all transit should be public, but their service is good. I do however see it failing in the future due to its ownership structure so basically doing my job for me with the track improvements
I have such a love hate relationship with brightline because they are doing a good service and are putting in a lot of good work, and paying unions and making a high speed rail line and all but they have such guady stations and they really should publicly owned and they feel pretentious and are lying and claiming the Acela isn’t high speed, but none of that matters too much honestly I have faith they’ll run out of money and with luck be nationalized
