Cool fact about Seattle:
They have a train to Vancouver Canada, The Cascades, it is one of three cross-border trains in North America, the other 2 being the maple Leaf and Adirondack, both in New York
There will be 2 new RTs of the Cascades between Seattle and Portland starting next month

The app usually will schedule to allow for a few hours of time to get a transfer. You can get time tables by looking up the name of the route then “timetable” in a search engine. Here are a few timetables to help though

It has decent speed but I would say doing speed improvements to get Seattle-Portland down to 2 and a half hours, expanding the Sounder commuter trains or the Link to reach more of the Seattle area like Redmond and South hill, expanding the MAX in Portland to reach more suburbs like Oregon City and Sherwood are the 2 things most important to raising ridership. Also getting a High Speed Express line on the Cascades would be good, but yeah those are my suggestions.

The Cascadia High speed rail plan unfortunately lacks a station in Salem, there is of course the Cascades train which is nice but still takes about 2 hours for 25 bucks.
