There are plans under consideration to restart service of the Pioneer between Seattle and Denver, and the Front Range Rail between Pueblo and Cheyenne is going to a vote next year for funding
You Know if we ever do get the Pioneer restored, we really should get a new name for it

Again only the revival of the Pioneer between Boise and Salt Lake City, there is also the North Coast Hiawatha which more runs in North Dakota and not Northern Idaho

Oh yeah that is direly needed, the plus side is the Pioneer between Salt Lake City and Boise is likely to fill in one of those gaps. But yeah Long distance routes require an act of congress to be created and there aren’t many major cities in South Dakota to Anchor these things so the full connection feels unlikely
Which of the Current Suggested but Unfunded Routes seems the best for all of us.
