- has excellent, nationally renowned museums (including the art institute which is one of the foremost art museums In The World !!)
- you can find great food from literally any nationality or ethnicity within city limits (and it’s usually normally priced)
- great public transit (ignoring the blue line for the past couple months) most trains come consistently every 5-10 minutes during the day and busses are even mostly reliable !
- excellent commuter rail to both all the surrounding suburbs and to northern indiana
- nice beaches in the summer
- accessible lakeshore parks + path that is safe for bikers, people walking, and everything in between
- for being the 3rd biggest city in the country it’s actually fairly affordable
- all of our sports teams are kinda not great this year but people go hard for them anyway!
- if you’re a music person, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is one of the premier orchestra worldwide and they have cheap student tickets, + a bunch of ticket options (i’ve always sat in the cheap seats way up but i promise the music hits the same) + a bunch of free events
- free zoo (lincoln park !!)
Lincoln Park Zoo is an amazing icon

philly has 16500 sq feet of green space per person
philadelphia has been named as “the mural capital of the world” with more than 4400 murals throughout the city. this was from a program that teamed up with local graffiti artists, who were compensated for their work

- The L looks really cool
- We have the Bean
- We have those fountains that spit on you right next to the Bean
- We have several foods we're known for (hot dogs, pizza, Italian beef, honestly there's so much and could be a whole list on its own)
- We have lake Michigan AND the Chicago river (which by the way we've reversed the flow of, IN JANUARY OF 1900)
- Wonderful museums, including the Field, which is home to our beloved T Rex Sue
- The Chicago flag is a well designed flag
- THE ARCHITECTURE
I still love the reversal of the Chicago River, that was so silly and it does have some great architecture
